Is "Everyone Else Does It" good?
The old saying "Everyone Else Does It" is like when you are at home and your friends tell you to sneak out and there reason is "Everyone Else Does It," which means that people have done it before and might have gotten away with it. A time when you might have used the saying was when you wanted try or do something that your friends were and you told your parents "Everyone Else Does It" and your parents probably still didn't let you do it. I don't know about you (the audience), but when I used to tell my parents that saying exactly, and then they would come back with, "So if your friends run in front of cars and jump off a cliff are you?" And knowing me of course said "Well it depends?" Just kidding I would have said "No... :'(" then go to my room and play 2k or go to sleep. So back on topic, next time I want things to go my way I'll have to come up with a much more better reason so that I can do whatever I please.

Yes I think any time you want to receive acceptance or approval on an activity that is not normally something you are allowed to do, then you should certainly have a justified reason as to how it will better you as a person, or give you an experience that could help you for your future or something like that. If it is just something you want to do because everyone else is doing it, is it really something you want to do? So the ultimate question to yourself might be just because everyone else is doing it, do I really want to? What are the outcomes if I do or don't partake. The other things to think about would be if the thing that everyone is doing could cause bodily harm or danger to you or someone else. Our morals may even be questioned during these challenges in life too. Ultimately the choices you make in your life are your choices and can affect a lot to come depending on what the choice is....best of luck in making your choice decisions
ReplyDeleteyou're right EJ, many of us get influenced by our friends on doing things we don't normally do since " everyone else does it". We don't always have to do what everyone does if its not what we feel in need to do.
ReplyDeleteEJ you are correct. Many people do make a decision then tend to use that as an excuse. Sad world we live in.
ReplyDeleteMany people use it as an excuse to do something that they know shouldn't be doing. We live in a world where we only do things that other people have done, like we cant be different from anyone else without being judge. so I think that's why the saying "Everyone else does it" comes to play.
ReplyDeleteEJ I agree with you, don't do as everyone else does, do it better man. If they want to jump off a cliff then you jump off too, however be clever, pack a parachute.
ReplyDeletePeople have used this saying so many times. Most people do as everyone else because they want to "fit in". They are afraid of being different. Being different is a good thing. It makes you unique. The only thing they should be worried about is being made fun of for making the wrong decisions. Avoid that and make wise choices, think twice.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Santino's comment if your gunna jump pack a parachute. Most people use the phrase "everyone else does it as a excused to fit in.
